Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in Egypt launches awareness campaign to fight corona virus


In coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities launched an awareness campaign to protect Egyptian and foreign workers in the tourism sector for museums and archaeological sites throughout the country.
This awareness campaign comes in light of the precautionary measures to confront the new coronavirus.
Iman Zaidan, assistant minister of tourism and antiquities for investment and financial resources development, explained that according to the awareness campaign, 1000 posters, plates and booklets on the preventive measures and safety instructions issued by the World Health Organization to fight against the virus were distributed to all employees of the ministry and others working in the tourism sector, It is installed on the entrances to museums and archaeological sites.

Gloves, masks and sterilizers were also distributed to employees at ticket booths and security guards on the Giza Plateau, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Salah El Din Castle and Saqqara Cemetery as a first stage.
Other batches will be distributed to the rest of the sites and museums, respectively.


She pointed out that the administrative buildings of the Ministry in the areas of Abbasiya, Giza and Zamalek were sterilized, while surfaces and places related to visitors and the public are cleaned and cleaned several times during the day with approved disinfectants to ensure the safety of visitors and employees.
