"Boris Johnson" invite leaders to Number 10 next week for coronavirus briefing

Boris Johnson called on opposition party leaders to brief No. 10 on the Corona virus, and urged competitors to come together for the national interest.

The prime minister said it is the duty of politicians of all walks to work across the corridor and devise a plan to defeat this "hidden killer".

In a letter to his traditional opponents, he wrote: `` As party leaders we have an obligation to work together during this time of national emergency.

Therefore, I would like to invite all leaders of opposition parties in Parliament to brief myself, the chief physician and the chief scientific adviser next week.

"I want to hear your opinions and inform you about the measures we have taken so far, such as the rapid expansion of tests and the provision of economic support to companies and individuals across the country."

Mr. Johnson's gravity came across the parties while Sir Kerr Starmer won the Labor Party leadership election and replaced Jeremy Corbyn, drawing a line under the left-wing mission for four years in the top position.

It has sparked speculation that the prime minister - whose relationship with Mr. Corbyn was frozen - deliberately delayed including other parties in Downing Street briefings until the election of a new leader.

The decision to introduce opposition parties to the fold indicates the seriousness with which the government deals with the deadly virus.

And more crisis was pushed into public awareness yesterday when it was revealed that the queen would make a rare speech to the nation to boost morale.

Her Majesty is expected to say: "We are on this together - and we will all pass it together as well." It is the fifth time that the 93-year-old monarch has aired outside Christmas.

The message was recorded at Windsor Castle, where she lives in isolation with her 98-year-old husband Philip, as the UK reported another 684 deaths in Covid-19, raising the death toll to 3,605 - exceeding that reported by China - and more Of the 38,000 cases.
